- Have a diagnosis of elevated diaphragm or injured phrenic nerve resulting from trauma, COVID, surgery, and more
- Be 65 years of age or younger — patients older than 65 will be sent for screening and, depending on the results, clinical review
- Have a BMI of 30 or less
