Almost anyone is eligible for sports hernia treatment at The Institute for Advanced Reconstruction, provided they have the proper diagnosis for Athletic Pubalgia. The patient must have had diagnostic testing of the groin, pelvic, and abdominal areas within the last two years.
Those who have already had a mesh hernia repair are still eligible for surgery. Traditional mesh hernia repair procedures do not address the pain associated with Athletic Pubalgia. Our surgery directly addresses the core muscle causing your pain, significantly improving your comfort.
Keep in mind that scar tissue from your previous surgery may create complications. In most cases, this is not a major risk factor, but you should consult with our physicians before you decide to proceed with surgery.
