Program objectives:
- Discuss current research trends for Spinal Cord Injury treatments that have been presented around the globe;
- Describe the algorithms that determine the appropriate choice of prosthetic in patients with Spinal Cord Injury, various forms of paralysis and nerve injuries;
- Identify secondary treatments for Stroke, Spinal Cord Paralysis, Bell’s Palsy, Diaphragm Paralysis, and Phrenic Nerve Injury to determine why these neurologic issues are frequently under-treated
- Describe how interdisciplinary communication between the surgical and non-surgical specialties help improve patient outcomes.
Course Description:
This program will expose healthcare providers to new thought processes in evaluating the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries, including chronic to catastrophic conditions.
Target Audience:
The target audience includes: primary care physicians, pediatricians, neurologists, physiatrists, rehab physicians, endocrinologists, orthopedists, cardiologists, vascular surgeons, pulmonologists, case managers, nurses and therapists.
